The following comments and questions were raised as part of the online AGM process and are now presented here with the responses from the Pinn Medical Centre. Fully accepting the difficulties involved, is the PMCPA pushing the PMC to resume face to face appointments without mandatory telephone discussions with a GP first. The procedure is fine in some, or even many, cases but there are others where it is simply not possible to assess a situation over the phone so a face to face should be automatic, even if the doctor and patient have to sit 8 or 10 feet apart. The NHS Volunteer scheme has drawn attention to the arrangements for providing help to those that are vulnerable and self-isolating during the current coronavirus outbreak. There is a website link here - and a contact number 0808 196 3646. In addition the Patients’ Association has for some time had its own team of local volunteers to provide help. They can be accessed by referral from the Pinn Medical Centre on 020 8866 5766.

On Friday 7 February 2020 the Harrow Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), responsible for commissioning services at the Pinn Medical Centre (PMC), issued the following statement: “ We have been discussing the future of the walk in services at the Pinn Medical Centre with patients over the last few months. Having considered the feedback we have received, we can confirm that we will be working with the Pinn Medical Centre to maintain the provision of walk in services for all patients at the site”. The Patients’ Association and the Partners of the PMC sought an urgent meeting with the CCG, and that meeting was held on Monday 10 February 2020.
